present in the mouth produce acids by degradation of sugar and food particles
remaining in the mouth after eating. The best way to prevent this is to clean
the mouth using toothpaste which are generally basic. These can neutralise the
excess acid and prevent tooth decay.

Ans 3. Plants require a specific pH range for their healthy
growth by using a large no. of pesticides and fertilizers pH of the soil
changes which make it more acidic or basic. So in the long run the soil becomes
infertile. This leads to soil erosion causing a damage to the environment also.
So use of these pesticides and fertilizers should be restricted.

Chapter – 5 PERIODIC CLASSIFICATION OF ELEMENTS

elements has make the study of elements easier and simple.
We can know about the
properties of elements because of this classification.
